The triage nurse may occasionally book an appointment with a doctor at your nearest Treatment Centre if your condition requires medical attention.
Once an appointment is booked, your details and medical symptoms will be sent via secure transmission to the treatment centre. The GP on duty is informed and will make the necessary preparations for your appointment.
It is advised that you arrive at the treatment centre at the scheduled time of your appointment to avoid delays in treatment. Please bring your Medical card to the centre along with anything relevant to your condition.
Please note that Shannondoc does not operate a Walk-in service. Please phone 1850 212 999 and speak to a nurse before making an appointment.
The Treatment Centres
Shannondoc operates 12 fully-equipped treatment centres, located throughout the Mid-West region.
Located in counties Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary, Treatment Centres operate like your local GP surgery, only during Out-Of-Hours.
Sited near the main population centres and major road networks, the centres are usually under 20 minutes by car journey.
